I'm a big fan of the tableaux school of photography (though I do not always spell it correctly). This style involves setting up every element of the photograph, and often involves making the subject of photograph oneself. The result is usually fantastic, surreal, or at least dramatic.
Here's the Wiki article. Here's a (fairly) modern example of tableaux from Chinese artist Wang Qingsong. Artfacts.net has a nice little listing of big names in tableaux (plus a bit of history and such).
Anyway, from now on, I think I'll be posting photos and other art that I'm working on, perhaps in various stages of completion, and then writing about them. Sound good? Hope so!
To start things off, I've posted an image from my "Muppet Terrors" series.
This started as a series of childhood nightmares (which, apparently, scarred me enough for the residue to remain in my psyche for somewhere around fifteen years). This particular nightmare had me sleep-waking-up and walking over to the bathroom for a tinkle. Entering the bathroom, I found a hideous cross between puppet and camel shuffling around in my shower and eating my family's Q-Tips. I ran in the dream, though the situation hardly seems terrifying now. Perhaps he was just a friendly puppet-camel.
I suppose now we'll never know.
I'll tell you how I made it later.

Wow. That's very creepy but also very cool. I like it. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the art you post.
Thanks. That's pretty much what I was going for... creepy but intriguing enough to stick in one's mind. And thanks for the confidence-booster! Always appreciated.
