You decide to attempt something new. Channeling all of your focus into your stench, you manipulate your noxious funk with your mind, molding it with your intent. A stanky greeting emanates from your person.

The giant noses of your new assailants notice your communique almost immediately. They glance at one another confusedly for a second. Weapons are lowered (partially, at least).

Then, the group of nose-anderthals parts to reveal what is most likely their leader. Larger than the others, and more decorated, it runs its fingers through its false, strapped-on beard and steps forward.
“Narg arg lug. Arg org nog lug narg!” it says.

The tone of its voice seems stern and chiding, but not necessarily hostile. If only you could interpret their words, as well.

Something niggles at the back of your brain; your fingers continue to itch and give off a soft light. The ODD METAL THING you pulled from your forearm continues to throb softly.

Your fingers begin to itch. Faintly at first, but soon, enough so that they rouse you from your slumber. Upon inspection, you notice they’ve begun to give off a soft, peculiar glow. You don’t remember fingers doing that before.
You wonder if you’ve been infected by something.

Next, you glance up. A group of about a half-dozen creatures huddles in the small alcove with you, blocking your exit. Their squat forms are accentuated by their extremely large and varied probosces. Each is almost entirely naked, but many sport faux hairdos and facial hair, scalped from hairier beings and fastened with leather straps or twine. Their proximity is unnerving.

One of the oddly-nude nose-people speaks at you in a foreign tongue.
“Nug urg narg ag. Ag lug nug log.” He seems upset.

You push your way East, through the market crowd and into what appears to be a residential area. The streets are still packed with those going to and from the markets, as well as plenty of other foot traffic headed towards the Offices looming above you to the North.

You are able to slip into the crowd relatively easily, considering your exotic origin and several obvious wounds. You managed to hold onto the HIDE-KNIFE you grabbed with your PREHENSILE TAIL, and you keep it at the ready. This isn’t what you’d call a secluded spot, and your left arm continues to pulsate… though less frequently, and less forcefully, the further you get from the scene in the market.

Clusters of massive fungal structures, most likely residential collectives, bloom from the ground all around you. As far as your vision stretches to the East sprout more clumps of these fungi, but the lights built into them eventually become fewer and farther between, and an intimidating forest of growths recedes into the darkness of the impossibly-large cavern.

You see a runoff grate nearby; evidence of a sewer system. Shelter, perhaps? You might also run into the network of alleys that branch in every direction.

With a mighty heave, you cleave into the CTHULHUDOG’s maw, your LONG-SCYTHE digging deep into its bizarre anatomy. It makes no sound; merely latching on to you with several tentacles, even as you sever them one by one.

An unseen appendage snatches off your BACKPACK; the main mass pulls you in and envelops your SCYTHE. You are tired of being eaten by tentacle monsters.

You focus on the full, raw strength of your STENCH, emitting a nigh-lethal dosage of boar-funk. Those unlucky enough in the crowd to be nearby the blast collapse, choking and gagging.

The CTHULHUDOG’S TENTACLES hesitate, stunned.

Thinking quickly, you stopper up your various wounds with the dirty street-pastries lying all around you. The crowd has already backed away a respectable distance from the violence, but you begin to emit a hearty round of flatulence, just to be certain you have the space you need.

A rhythmic thumping in the distance draws your attention. Galloping full-bore directly at you is a terrifying tentacle-headed canine-beast. You recognize it as similar to the statue you found in front of the Offices. This is most certainly what the remaining INSECTOID SELL-SWORDS were trying to summon. The crowd parts before its stony force.

You take a bite of crusty bread. It may be your last.

In one fluid motion, you drop all pastries but the heaviest, crustiest baguette. The first INSECTOID SELL-SWORD charges, and is brought down with a solid, crushing blow to the labrum.

Snatching up your fallen foe’s LONG-SCYTHE, you turn to another assailant, grunting as it catches you with a brutal slash to the chest. You rush forward and gore it through the mesothorax with your tusks, relishing the bitter bug-broth that sprays from the mortal wound.

A sharp pain in your back brings you out of your revelry, and you find a HIDE-KNIFE jutting out from between your shoulder-blades. Now unarmed, the third SELL-SWORD backs away, while the fourth is even more distant, motioning frantically towards the crowd.

Your left arm pulses more rapidly. You are bleeding from several wounds.

With a flourish, you belt into your office-tribe’s most popular audit-chant, swaying your hips and tapping your tiny hooves to its warlike rhythms.

The VENDOR seems nonplussed. A small crowd gathers to watch the strange naked boarperson singing in the street. One tosses a COIN at you, which you catch with your tail.

Gauging the vendor’s disapproval, you decide to take bolder measures. You snatch up a hefty armful of his wares and crash through the throng, using your PREHENSILE TAIL to fling a bun at his face as you do. You hear him buzz-shout in an alien tongue behind you.

Suddenly, you are surrounded by a circle of INSECTOID SELL-SWORDS, who leap above the mass and land all around you, brandishing long-scythes and hide-knives.

Your left arm, still bleeding, begins to throb.
